Boy stabbed this morning in Massachusetts middle school
According to Mayor Scott Galvin, Police Chief Robert Rufo and Superintendent of Schools Matthew Crowley, a 12 year old boy was stabbed this morning.
The stabbing according after a fight between two students at Kennedy Middle School in Woburn escalated to the point which one student was slashed with what was an allegedly concealed knife.
The 11 year old suspect was quickly placed into custody by Woburn Police shortly after the incident. The victim was treated by the Woburn Fire Department and sent to the hospital with wounds that are not considered to be life threatening.
The school was put in a shelter in place mode during the investigation. It was determined that the act was not random.
The alleged suspect will face discipline from the school district according to authorities and may face charges in a juvenile court.
The investigation is ongoing and all of the details could not be revealed due to the juvenile status of those involved.
