Bouncer charged with murder after fatal stabbing of Marine outside of Boston bar
At about 6:53 PM on Saturday, March 19, 2022, officers assigned to District A-1 (Downtown) responded to a call for a person stabbed on Union Street in Downtown Boston.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim, identified as Daniel Martinez, 23, of Illinois, suffering from a stab wound. The victim, suffering life-threatening injuries, was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Detectives assigned to the Boston Police Homicide Unit conducted an investigation which resulted in the identification of Alvaro Larrama, 38, of East Boston as the suspect wanted in connection to the incident. On Monday, March 21, 2022, Alvaro Larrama surrendered himself to Boston Police at District A15 and was taken into custody without incident.
According to WCVB, the victim was an active-duty Marine, and the suspect was a bouncer at Sons of Boston. The stabbing reportedly took place outside of that bar.
The Boston Police Department continues to review the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident and is asking anyone with information relative to this investigation to contact Boston Police Homicide Detectives at (617) 343-4470.
The suspect will be arraigned in the Boston Municipal Court and charged with Murder.
