A famous Boston sports star visited a popular Tiverton eatery this week.

Evelyn’s Drive In at 2335 Main Road took to social media to announce that Bruins captain Brad Marchand paid a visit.

“We were STOKED to have the absolute legend @bmarch63 Brad Marchand, captain of the @nhlbruins crash our patio and enjoy his afternoon with family!”

Marchand, who appeared to be nursing an injury as his arm was in a sling, isn’t the only celebrity to recently visit Evelyn’s.

Guy Fieri featured the restaurant for a second time on an episode of Triple D Nation, a spinoff of Fieri’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives which aired this year.

On the episode called “From Steak to Seafood”, “Fieri’s having a turf-and-surf soiree! First, a Brazilian-American fusion place in Orlando, Fla., is serving traditional shrimp stew and savory steak. Then, a soul-food spot in Memphis, Tenn., is dishing out a fierce fried sandwich, and a waterfront joint in Tiverton, R.I. (Evelyn’s), is bringing some killer flavor to next-level seafood platters and chowders.”

The Food Network noted that “at Evelyn’s Drive In, you’ll find great local favorites and scenic views of Nanaquaket Pond. The eatery is famous for fried clams and the traditional Rhode Island Clam Chowder that adds cream at the end. Guy couldn’t believe the Lobster Chow Mein and joked, “As wrong as it is, it’s right.””

In an October 15, 2007, episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives called Seaside Eats, Evelyn’s Drive In was featured with Fieri and Jane and Domenic Bitto, who have owned the spot since 1987 after Evelyn DuPont founded it in 1969.
