Boston police officer dies while out in blizzard Saturday
A veteran police officer in Boston has died.
According to the Norfolk District Attorney’s office and the Boston Globe, John O’Keefe was found outside of a home in Canton Saturday morning and had been outside for a long period of time. O’Keefe was familiar with the residents of the home. O’Keefe was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Mansfield woman arrested in death of Boston police officer
Boston Police issued the following statement on O’Keefe’s passing.
“It is with deep regret that Superintendent-in-Chief Gregory Long announces the passing of active-duty Boston Police Officer John O’Keefe. Officer O’Keefe was a 16-year veteran of the BPD who served admirably in several assignments during his career. John will be greatly missed by his friends and colleagues here at the Boston Police Department as we send our heartfelt condolences to his family, and loved ones during this difficult time.”
O’Keefe’s death is under investigation.
