Birthday present turns into first $1,000,000 a year for life Massachusetts Lottery prize; here is how the money will be spent
A Massachusetts State Lottery scratch ticket has made history.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Merjon Tangovan Nominee Trust of Boston has won the first $1,000,000 a Year for Life grand prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “Lifetime Millions” $50 instant game.
The trust, represented by trustee Greg Racki, selected the cash option on its prize and received a one-time payment of $15,400,000 (before taxes). Racki said that his client received the winning ticket as a birthday gift and declared it the “best birthday present ever.”
According to Racki, the winner plans on purchasing a new car, traveling, and helping out family with their newfound fortune.
The winning ticket was purchased at Northside Market & Liquors, 44 North Rd. in Bedford. The store receives a $50,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
There are two additional $1,000,000 a Year for Life grand prizes in the “Lifetime Millions” instant game that launched in February.
