Bicyclist dies from injuries sustained in Rhode Island motor vehicle collision

A person is dead after a collision in Rhode Island late Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, at just before 6:00 p.m., the Coventry Police Department responded to Hill Street for a motor vehicle accident involving an adult bicyclist.

Coventry Rescue personnel responded to the scene and pronounced the cyclist deceased.

The vehicle operator and witnesses remained on scene and are cooperating with police.

The Coventry Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction Team and BCI are investigating the accident.

Coventry Police request the public to avoid Hill Street at South Pond Drive which remains closed at this time.
