Berkley, Taunton, Swansea among fire departments that extinguished 2-alarm blaze
Chief Scott Fournier reports that Berkley Fire Rescue extinguished a 2-alarm house fire early Sunday morning.
At approximately 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, Berkley Fire Rescue received a report of a fully involved house fire on David Way. While on the scene, a second alarm was struck calling in mutual aid engines from Dighton, Taunton and Swansea, and tankers from Freetown, Lakeville, Raynham, Middleborough, Westport, Rehoboth and Dartmouth.
The fire was under control by approximately 5:20 a.m.
No injuries were reported.
The residents of the home are currently displaced, and the American Red Cross of Massachusetts is providing support.
The cause is under investigation by Berkley Fire Rescue and the State Police Fire & Explosion Investigation Unit assigned to the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
