Basketball challenge in honor of deceased Fall River baller to feature giveaways, prizes including gift cards, Nike sneakers
Ready to test your basketball shooting skills?
Register for the Fall River Hot Shot Challenge at the basketball courts at Kennedy Park on September 26th hosted by retired Fall River Police Officer Mike Pereira.
Modeled after the NBA’s annual 3-point shot contest, the Fall River Hot Shot Challenge offers three age co-ed divisions, 10-13, 14-17, and 18+.
Registration is free and takes place at 3:00 p.m. with the event kickoff at 4:00 p.m.
Prizes include a $250 Visa gift card for the first two divisions and a $500 Visa gift card for 18+.
In addition to the challenge, a free throw competition will be held with the winner receiving Nike Air Jordan Tatum 3 sneakers.
The first 100 participants will receive an event t-shirt, water bottle, and a pair of basketball socks.
There will also be a raffle for 15 pairs of Nike sneakers.
The event is sponsored by several entities including the Fall River Police Department, Massachusetts Coalition for Police, Lamacchia Realty, Tetrault Real Estate, Blue Cross Blue Shield Massachusetts, State Rep Carole Fiola, Mayor Paul Coogan, City Councilor Paul Hart, We Care, and Intoit productions.
