UPDATE: Authorities searching Taunton River after a motorcycle crash in Fall River
Authorities are searching after an early morning crash in Fall River.
According to Coast Guard Northeast, Coast Guard rescue crews from STA Castle Hill and Air Station Cape Cod are actively searching for a man after an accident on the Veterans Memorial Bridge over the Taunton River early this morning.
Massachusetts State Police and Fall River Police are assisting.
The accident took place on the Veterans Memorial Bridge at approximately 12:30 a.m. at Route 6 eastbound on-ramp to Route 79 southbound.
Travel lanes and the ramp are currently open, according to Massachusetts Department of Transportation.
Coast Guard Northeast stated at approximately 3:45 p.m. that Coast Guard rescue crews from STA Castle Hill and Air Station Cape Cod have suspended their search Sunday pending further information. The search on Monday will now be a recovery mission.
