Authorities release name of 68-year-old man who died after going missing at Long Pond
BROCKTON – Massachusetts State Police and Lakeville Police are investigating the apparent drowning of a 68-year-old man, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz has announced.
Saturday, at approximately 5:15 p.m., Massachusetts Environmental Police were on scene conducting routine patrols and were notified that a man had been reported missing in the water.
A search began, and the man, identified as Todd Page, was located in the water 50-75 yards from the shoreline. Page was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford by Lakeville Fire medics where he was pronounced deceased.
Lakeville’s dive team and police boat assisted in the search.
The investigation is ongoing. The state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
