Authorities release name of 68-year-old man killed in Rhode Island rollover highway crash

The name has been released of a man killed in an afternoon highway crash in Rhode Island.

According to police, on Tuesday, at approximately 3:00 p.m., members of the Smithfield Police Department, and the members of the Smithfield Fire Department, responded to the area of 388 Douglas Pike for a report of a rollover crash involving a single vehicle. 

The operator of the vehicle was pronounced deceased on scene.

The operator was identified as 68-year-old Dennis Hynes of Lincoln, Rhode Island. 

The cause of the accident, and any contributing factors, still remain under investigation.
