Authorities release name of 25-year-old motorcycle rider killed in Wareham crash, driver charged

WAREHAM, Mass. — A fatal collision between a car and a motorcycle claimed the life of a 25-year-old rider in Wareham on Friday evening.

According to NBC10 Boston, authorities in Wareham were alerted by several emergency calls around 5:00 p.m. reporting a serious accident involving a vehicle and a motorcycle near 2628 Cranberry Highway.

Responding officers and fire personnel discovered the injured motorcyclist lying on the pavement with critical wounds. He was rushed to Tobey Hospital before being airlifted to St. Luke’s Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Plymouth District Attorney’s Office named the deceased as 25-year-old Jordan Hansen.

Investigators located the involved car and its operator about a quarter mile from the site of the incident.

The car’s driver, 67-year-old Raymond Cardoza from West Wareham, was taken into custody and charged with operating under the influence causing death, a fourth OUI offense, fleeing the scene after causing injury or fatality, and driving on a suspended license, per the DA’s office.

Cardoza is being detained on $100,000 cash bail.

The DA’s office noted that the probe into the accident continues.
