Authorities release identity of 25-year-old man killed in officer-involved shooting at Massachusetts State Park

The man killed in an officer involved shooting at a Massachusetts State Park has been identified.

According to the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office, on Wednesday, at approximately 4:00 p.m., there was an officer involved shooting in Weymouth after Weymouth Police responded to a 911 call for service at the Webb Memorial State Park off River Street in Weymouth. 

Police arrived at that location and encountered an individual with a knife who appeared to be in distress.  The Officer immediately administered first aid to the victim prior to transporting him to an area hospital in critical condition. 

Sean R. Barry, 25, of Weymouth was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The incident is being investigated by the Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office.
