Attleboro woman arrested in connection with fatal shooting at Braintree mall

A 27-year-old Attleboro woman has been arrested by Braintree and Massachusetts State Police for accessory after the fact of the murder of Dijoun Beasley, according to Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey and Braintree Police Chief Mark Dubois.

Samantha Schwartz, 27, of Forest Street in Attleboro, was taken into custody shortly after 3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, in Quincy. She was transported to the Braintree Police headquarters for processing and is expected to be arraigned in the Quincy District Court morning session on the single count of accessory after the fact of murder, pertaining to actions she took subsequent to the Jan. 22, 2022, shooting at the South Shore Plaza in Braintree.

It is expected that she will be represented by Attorney Christopher Malcolm. District Attorney Morrissey has assigned Assistant District Attorney Anne Yas to prosecute the homicide.

“The shooter remains at-large tonight, and this investigation remains ongoing and very active,” District Attorney Morrissey said. “Addition details relative to the basis for the accessory charge may be disclosed to the court during her arraignment tomorrow.”
