Attleboro man convicted of digitally raping and molesting young girl sentenced to prison
A 44-year-old Attleboro man was sentenced yesterday in Fall River Superior Court to serve nine to 12 years in state prison after being convicted of digitally raping and molesting a young girl, Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III announced.
Kyle Beauchemin pleaded guilty on March 15th to indictments charging him with rape of a child, attempt to commit a crime and three counts of indecent assault and battery on a person under 14. He was sentenced Monday afternoon by Judge Renee Dupuis.
In November 2020, Attleboro Police became aware of an online solicitation and enticement of minors investigation led by Newbury Police involving an undercover 13-year-old female persona who made contact with the defendant. Through this investigation, investigators learned that the Beauchemin’s girlfriend had a teenaged daughter at the time. During one conversation with the undercover officer, the defendant commented on being interested in the girl.
On December 16, 2020, the same date that Beauchemin was arrested for charges related to the Newbury Police investigation, Attleboro Police detectives went to the victim’s home to speak with her and her mother. The victim told police that Beauchemin touched her breast and vagina when she was in the 7th grade. A couple of days later, the victim attended a forensic interview and indicated that between the 5th and 7th grades, she first remembered the defendant touching her buttocks. Also during this time, Beauchemin touched her vagina under her clothing using his fingers. Within the last 5 years from the interview date, the defendant also put his cellphone under the bathroom door to take a picture of the victim while she was in the shower.
On December 31, 2020, Beauchemin completed a 30-day predator assessment at the jail and admitted to touching his girlfriend’s daughter’s vagina against her will. On January 6, 2021, Attleboro detectives spoke with the defendant at the Essex County Correctional Facility, during which time he confessed to touching the victim’s vagina over and under her clothing, as well as her breasts over and under her clothing. He also admitted he touched her buttocks and took photos of her in the shower.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Danielle Pixley. In addition to the state prison sentence, Judge Dupuis also ordered Beauchemin to be placed on supervised probation for an additional five years with GPS monitoring.
“The actions of the defendant are very disturbing and perverted,” District Attorney Quinn said. “The sentence is appropriate to hold the defendant accountable for the harm he has caused the victim and her family.”
