Attleboro Fire Department uses Jaws of Life in multi-vehicle highway crash
ATTLEBORO – Multiple people were transported to the hospital due to a crash on Monday.
According to the Attleboro Fire Department, at approximately 8:20 p.m., the Attleboro Fire Department responded to a serious motor vehicle crash on South Avenue (Route 123) near Greenfield Street. Upon arrival, crews found two vehicles with heavy front-end damage. Each vehicle was occupied only by its driver.
One driver was able to self-extricate and was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital. The second driver was trapped and removed by firefighters using the. That individual was transported ALS to Rhode Island Hospital.
South Avenue remains closed in both directions. The Attleboro Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
