At least 9 people sent to the hospital after multi-vehicle collisions on Route 95 leads to numerous people fighting, walking on the highway
Multiple highway crashes within seconds of each other resulted in over a half dozen injuries on Sunday morning.
According to Rhode Island State Police, at just before 5:30 a.m., Troopers responded to a multi-car motor vehicle crash on Route 95 South at the Broadway overpass in Pawtucket.
One passenger was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for serious but non life-threatening injuries, and two additional parties were transported for minor complaints of pain.
Two subsequent crashes followed, and six additional people were transported for minor injuries or minor complaints of pain. Troopers are investigating whether additional parties transported themselves to area hospitals.
Prior to Troopers’ arrival, there were reports of numerous people fighting and walking around on both sides of Route 95.
This is an ongoing criminal investigation, and no further details were released.
