At least 5 injured in 5 vehicle crash that shut down bridge on Cape Cod
Several people were injured in a collision involving several vehicles on a rainy Saturday afternoon.
At approximately 4:45 p.m., a call came in for a multi-vehicle accident on the Sagamore Bridge on Route 6. The incident was confirmed to be a level 1 mass casualty incident.
The Bourne Police reported that 5 vehicles were involved and some of the injured were entrapped. The bridge was closed at that time.
Just after 5:30 p.m., MassDOT reported that the left lanes west and eastbound were still closed and traffic was getting by slowly.
Just before 6:15 p.m., Bourne Police announced that the bridge had fully reopened.
Eight ambulances were dispatched to the scene and at least 5 people suffered injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
The crashes are under investigation.

Hope everyone gets well soon. That bridge is sketchy under the best sets of circumstances.
