Kylee Monteiro, an 18-year-old pregnant Bristol County teen who was found deceased Tuesday after being reported missing, is being remembered.

Originally raised in Burrillville, Rhode Island, Monteiro moved to Attleboro after her mother’s death nearly five years ago, living with her aunt and uncle there. She graduated from Attleboro High School this year.

She shared a biological father with her sister Faith and four other siblings, and also has another sister named Catherine.

Monteiro was active on social media, particularly TikTok, where she shared updates about her life.

At the time of her disappearance, Monteiro was 11 weeks pregnant (approaching three months) and excited about motherhood, having already chosen the name Eleanor if the baby was a girl.

She had recently been staying at Bethesda House, a shelter for homeless pregnant women in Pembroke.

Monteiro was in an on-again, off-again relationship with 22-year-old Gregory Groom of Rehoboth, who was the father of her unborn child.

Family reports indicated domestic issues in the relationship, and she had expressed fears about Groom, including a text to her sister shortly before disappearing that read, “My phone is at four percent. If I die, it was Greg.”

She was last seen on August 7, 2025, in the area of County Street in Rehoboth, wearing a red T-shirt with “Get Over It” printed on it, ripped blue jeans, tan boots, and carrying a white bag with her belongings.

Tragically, her body was discovered on Tuesday, buried on Groom’s property, leading to his arrest for murder.

Faith posted a touching tribute Wednesday evening.

“I will love and miss you forever my babys. I am so sorry that you ever had to go through this. All you ever wanted was for him to love you back. You deserved the world. You were the happiest person I knew. You were so full of life. And you would have been an amazing mommy. I love you and the baby with my entire being. You had your entire life ahead of you. My heart will never heal from this. Fly high with the angels my beautiful girl. Goodbye for now Kylee Monteiro.”

Faith also posted an update on the vigil.

“This is extremely hard for our family therefore we will not be doing interviews or taking any questions. We wanted to inform everyone that the vigil for Kylee will still proceed as planned on Saturday August 23rd at 7pm at 401 Winthrop Street, Rehoboth, Massachusetts. We will be providing everyone with a candle, and we will have a donation box for those who may want to help cover funeral expenses for Kylee and her baby. Thank you for all the support from the police, the media, and the public. Your efforts did not go unnoticed.”

A GoFundMe fundraiser has also been created by Kylee’s family for funeral arrangements.

On Thursday from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Attleboro High School will provide grief counseling by School Counselors to support students, families, and staff.
