Arrest made after officer involved shooting at Bristol County hotel
Police make arrest after an officer involved shooting on Thursday.
According to Chief of Police Ronald Sellon, Jr., at just before 3:45 p.m., the Mansfield Police Dept responded to the area of the Red Roof Inn at 60 Forbes Boulevard for reported shots fired in the area.
Upon arrival, officers were met by officers from another jurisdiction who had been investigating a subject for drug activity.
Before MPD’s arrival, the subject in question, driving a black BMW, attempted to flee the scene and another officer fired a single shot at the subject.
The subject’s vehicle was located in North Attleboro a short time later and the subject was taken into custody.
The scene is secured and there is no further danger to the public.
The matter remains under investigation.
The name of the suspect was not released.
