Area of Fall River intersection expected to be reconfigured for several months
According to MassDOT, as work continues on the Davol Street/Route 79 project in Fall River, more changes are coming for drivers and pedestrians.
To accommodate essential utility work in the area, the intersection of President Avenue and Davol Street Northbound will be temporarily reconfigured beginning January 8. The temporary reconfiguration will remain for approximately 4 months.
When travelling west on President Avenue to Davol Street northbound, the dedicated right turn lane from President Avenue to Davol Street northbound will be temporarily out of service. Vehicles will still be able to turn right on to Davol Street northbound or continue west along President Avenue from the right-hand lane.
Pedestrians are asked to utilize the detour signage and cross Route 79 at the designated temporary crosswalks. Signs will be posted 48 hours in advance.
Weather and unexpected circumstances make all construction activities subject to change.
