Authorities say that two men are facing drug charges after a recent arrest.

According to police, at approximately 2:45 p.m., on Friday, officers assigned to the Drug Control Unit of District D-14 (Allston/Brighton) arrested Brian Ellmore, 50, of Attleboro, and Shawn Murdock, 45, of Burlington, for various drug offenses.

Officers were conducting a drug investigation in the area of 23 Farrington Avenue. Officers observed three individuals exit a taxi in front of the building. Officers maintained surveillance of the group and observed one individual walk towards a convenience store at 63 Harvard Avenue, while the other two entered 19/21 Farrington Avenue.

Officers observed the individual inside concealing items under his shirt. The suspect then exited the store and walked down the nearby alley. Officers followed the suspect and observed him crouch behind a dumpster. Officers were able to stop the suspect and observed him smoking unknown drugs.

Officers advised the suspect of the reason for the stop, and recovered 52 pills of Gabapentin which were not prescribed to him, and a plastic bag of fentanyl. Officers advised the suspect that he would be summonsed to court for Possession of Class A, C, and E.

Remaining Drug Control Officers observed the other two individuals exit the building and walk towards Harvard Avenue. Officers stopped the individuals, and were aware that one of them had an active warrant for his arrest. Officers placed Shawn Murdock into handcuffs, and conducted a search. Officers recovered a plastic bag containing cocaine and a second plastic bag containing multiple pills.

After further investigation, officers recovered from the other suspect, a large plastic bag containing two smaller bags of cocaine and crystal methamphetamine. Officers also recovered approximately $969 in U.S. currency. The drugs were later weighed and determined to be 45 grams of crystal methamphetamine.

Both suspects were placed under arrest and expected to be arraigned in Brighton District Court for the following charges:

Elmore was charged with Trafficking of Class B, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B Subsequent Offense.

Murdock was charged with Possession of Class B Subsequent Offense and Possession of Class C Subsequent Offense.
