Alleged Fall River area drug dealer among two arrested for shooting Boston Police Officer

Boston Police are reporting that two men have been arrested in connection with Sunday’s shooting of a police officer. One of the men has ties to Fall River.

Following an investigation into an incident which occurred at 1:53 p.m. on Sunday, September 23 in the area of 91 West Springfield Street in the South End, officers placed two males under arrest. During the incident, an officer assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force, suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital. The two males, identified as Raquon Martin, 21-years-old of Boston and Antoine Mack, 35-years-old, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island were placed under arrest.

Martin and Mack are both charged with Armed Assault to Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Discharging a Firearm within 500 feet of a Building, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Assault and Battery by means of a Dangerous Weapon. Both men are expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.

According to WPRI 12 , Mack is a known drug dealer in the Fall River area and this isn’t the first time he’s been arrested. In August, he was accused of selling crack cocaine.

The Boston Police Department continues to actively review the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.
