ALDI recalling berries due to hepatitis A contamination
Batavia, Ill.(October 31, 2019) –In cooperation with Wawona Frozen Foods, and out of an abundance of caution, ALDI is voluntarily recalling Season’s Choice Frozen Raspberries and Season’s ChoiceFrozen Berry Medley due to hepatitis A contamination. The affected products, lot codes, UPC codes and sell by dates can be found below:
ALDI has removed the affected product from select stores in Alabama, California, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, North Carolina, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and West Virginia.
The products were shipped nationwide and also available for purchase to ALDI customers through the company’s partnership with Instacart, a grocery delivery service.
To date, no illnesses related to these products have been reported. No other ALDI products are affected by this recall.
Hepatitis A is a communicable disease of the liver caused by the hepatitis A virus (HAV). Most adults with hepatitis A have symptoms, including fatigue, low appetite, stomach pain, nausea, and jaundice.
If customers have product affected by this voluntary recall, they should discard it immediately or return it to their local store for a full refund.
