Air Quality Alert issued, elevated levels of air pollution expected
Breathing may be difficult for some in the Fall River area and beyond on Monday.
MassDEP has called an Action Day for poor air quality as elevated levels of air pollution are expected in the area.
The pollution may cause health affects among sensitive people.
Those most at risk are children, other active people, the elderly, and those with existing respiratory illnesses.
Ozone levels will likely elevate well into the Moderate and into the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (USG) range for southeastern Massachusetts.
A heat wave is expected as parts of Massachusetts are issued an Excessive Heat Watch
MassDEP recommends limiting strenuous activity, taking public transportation, or working at home, if possible.
