Afternoon crash on Route 18 results in several injured, 2 transported to New Bedford hospital

Multiple people were injured after a local crash on Thursday afternoon.

The Lakeville Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident at approximately 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Taunton and Bedford Streets (Route 18).

Due to reports of multiple patients, a recall was transmitted for supplemental staffing. Ambulance 2, Ambulance 3, Engine 1, and Car 2 were dispatched to the scene.

LFD stated that EMS personnel evaluated a total of four patients. Two individuals were transported to St. Luke’s Hospital by Lakeville Ambulances for further treatment. Fortunately, none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening.

The crash is under investigation.
