Despite efforts by numerous agencies in an attempt to locate him safely, a missing Massachusetts man was found dead.

According to Fire Lt. Kyle Sledziewski, on Wednesday, July 8th, at approximately 3:00 p.m., the Warren Police Department received a report of a missing 91-year-old male, Elliott Blackwell from Cutler Road, that was last seen at approximately 10:00 a.m. that morning before wandering away from his home. Immediately, the Warren Police requested assistance from the Warren Fire Department as well as state and local police and began the search knowing Blackwell had dementia.

After searching for Blackwell for a week and a half, at approximately 3:22 p.m. on Sunday, a K9 Search and Rescue team located Blackwell deceased.

We contacted the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office for more details and have not yet heard back.
