A traffic jam is a good thing? Massachusetts man hits $1 million State Lottery prize due to backup
It is rare that a lottery player hits a huge prize. It is also rare that a traffic jam is beneficial. Put them both together and you are looking at one extremely rare incident.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Bernard Fox of Milford is the seventh $1 million prize winner in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “Billion Dollar Extravaganza” instant ticket game, the Mass Lottery’s first $50 ticket.
Fox said that he stopped at a store to buy a ticket because there was a traffic jam.
He purchased his winning ticket at Express Mart, 395 High Plain St. in Walpole.
He opted to receive his prize in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). The store receives a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
