A Mother’s Day visit turned into a 1-million-dollar Massachusetts lottery win
A Mother’s Day visit to family in Massachusetts turned into a million-dollar winner.
According to Massachusetts State Lottery, Daniel Sieloff is the winner of a $1 million Mega Millions prize after the first five numbers on his Quic Pic ticket matched those selected in the multi-state game’s drawing held Tuesday, May 10.
Sieloff, who is from Lenox, Michigan, and his fiancée had traveled to Massachusetts to visit her family over Mother’s Day weekend. Prior to heading to the airport for their flight back to Michigan, Sieloff stopped for gas and coffee and also bought tickets for the three multi-state games, including Mega Millions, that he usually plays in Michigan.
Sieloff and his fiancée returned to Massachusetts a week later to claim his $1 million prize (before taxes) at Mass Lottery headquarters in Dorchester. He plans on using a portion of his winnings to take a family trip in the spring.
He purchased his winning ticket at the Nouria Energy gas station and convenience store located at 183 Summer Street in Kingston, MA. The store receives a $10,000 bonus for its sale.
