A Fall River Public School teacher has turned her love of running into a cause to help others.

45-year-old Renae Cicchinelli is a physical education teacher at Henry Lord who has been running since she was a child.

She is an accomplished runner and has won events like the Fisherman’s Tribute Fund 5K.

Cicchinelli is part of a team of 21 runners running from California to New York City in the “MS Run the US”.

“I have been asked many times why I run so much, and my answer has always been “I run for those who can’t.” I feel I can use my ability to help others, including family and friends, beat MS.”

Cicchinelli finished her 153-mile, 6-day run from Ohio to Pennsylvania on Sunday morning. Just because she has finished, though, doesn’t mean you can’t donate. She has raised just over $7,000 with a goal of $10,000.

Those interesting in donating on Cicchinelli’s behalf can click here.
