Crash on I-195 leaves 2 seriously injured

UPDATE:  Driver of tanker truck flown to RI Hospital with serious injuries. Driver of pickup truck taken by ground ambulance to RI Hospital with serious injuries. Both victims expected to survive.

A serious crash involving a tractor trailer across all lanes of 195 westbound has occurred this afternoon. Two people have serious injuries according to Massachusetts State Police. A medical helicopter arrived on the scene to transport. All westbound lanes are closed and traffic is being  diverted to Route 240. Westbound is expected to remain closed well into evening rush.

As result of the crash there is an oil spill on the road. The road will be shut down for an extended period for cleanup.
