Massachusetts winner to fulfill lifelong dream after hitting $1 million lottery prize

A dream will now be fulfilled thanks to a lot of luck which resulted in a big lottery win.

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Black Canary Trust of Quincy has claimed a $1 million prize for a Powerball ticket purchased in Massachusetts for the multi-state game’s Saturday, August 30 drawing that featured a $1.034 billion jackpot.

The trust, represented by trustee David Spillane, opted to receive its prize in the form of a one-time payment of $1,000,000 (before taxes). Spillane state that the winner is planning to open their own business with their winnings, something they’ve dreamed of doing their whole life.

The winning ticket was purchased at Smoke n Munch, 348 Grafton St. in Worcester. The store receives a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
