5 arrested on firearm related charges by Fall River Police after gun, ammunition seized
Fall River Police arrested 5 people facing firearm offences over the weekend.
According to police, on Saturday, C.A.S.T. detectives were conducting proactive patrols in Father Diaferio Village when they observed a 16-year-old male acting suspiciously and displaying characteristics of being armed. Detectives stopped a vehicle connected to the activity and located five individuals inside:
• 16-year-old male
• 16-year-old male
• 17-year-old male
• 17-year-old male
• Juliana Paiva (19-year-old female)

A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of an FN 509 9mm handgun with a defaced serial number. The firearm was equipped with a 15-round magazine containing 13 live rounds, plus one round in the chamber.
As the firearm was unclaimed having and accessible to all occupants, all five individuals were taken into custody and charged with the following offenses:
• Carrying a Firearm Without a License
• Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License
• Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm
• Defaced Firearm Serial Number
Paiva pled not guilty at her arraignment Monday in Fall River District Court and posted $2,500 cash bail.
She has a probable cause hearing scheduled for November 15th.
