Massachusetts Department of Transportation announces upcoming lane closures on Fall River and Somerset bridges
FALL RIVER/SOMERSET – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has announced that it will be performing scupper cleaning and shoulder sweeping on the Braga Bridge on I-195 eastbound and westbound including on/off ramps between mile marker 10.5 and mile marker 12.3, in Fall River and Somerset. Work is scheduled for Sunday, September 7, through Tuesday, September 9, and Sunday, September 14, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following morning. Work is anticipated to be completed by Monday morning, September 15.
Lane closures on I-195 eastbound and westbound will be in place. Temporary traffic alterations, including lane and shoulder closures, will occur as needed. At least one lane of travel will be maintained at all times, and police will assist with traffic control and safety setups.
Massachusetts Department of Transportation has also announced that it will be performing scupper cleaning and shoulder sweeping on the Veterans Memorial Bridge on Route 6 eastbound and westbound including on/off ramps between mile marker 11.0 and mile marker 11.6, in Fall River and Somerset. Work is scheduled for Sunday, September 7, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following morning, and Wednesday, September 10 and Thursday, September 11, from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following morning. Work is anticipated to be completed by Friday morning, September 12.
Lane closures on Route 6 eastbound and westbound will be in place. Temporary traffic alterations, including lane and shoulder closures, will occur as needed. At least one lane of travel will be maintained at all times, and police will assist with traffic control and safety setups.
Appropriate signage and messaging will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.
Drivers traveling through the affected area should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
