Tased Fall River man arrested for second time in two days after reports of a man stabbed
A Fall River man has been arrested for the second time in as many days.
According to police, on Tuesday afternoon, officers from the Fall River Police Department responded to the area of Second and Wade Street for reports of a male suffering from a stab wound to the leg.
Upon arrival, officers observed a male, later identified as 34-year-old Vincent Valois, bleeding from his leg, acting belligerent, and refusing repeated commands to stop and show his hands.
For officer safety, commands were given while officers observed Valois repeatedly reaching into his waistband and creating a traffic hazard by entering the roadway. Despite multiple warnings, Valois advanced toward officers in an aggressive manner, at one point demanding to be “shot.”
A Massachusetts State Trooper who also responded, and an FRPD officer both deployed their TASERs, which proved ineffective. Officers ultimately brought Valois to the ground, where he actively resisted but was secured in handcuffs after a brief struggle.
During a medical evaluation, officers located suspected narcotics in Valois’s possession, later determined to be approximately 1 gram of powdered cocaine and 0.8 grams of crack cocaine. Valois declined medical treatment at Saint Anne’s Hospital and was transported to the Fall River Police Department for booking and processing.
Valois was arrested on Monday and missed his Tuesday arraignment, according to court records.
