Fall River Police say man was injured in shooting on highway by masked person

Fall River Police have issued an update on a reported shooting.

According to police, at approximately 5:15 a.m. on Saturday, Fall River Police from the Patrol Bureau responded to a report of a shooting. A male victim informed officers he had been shot. He was transported to a nearby hospital with a non-life-threatening shoulder injury.

The victim reported that the incident occurred while driving westbound on I-195, near the Plymouth Avenue exit, when a black sedan with masked occupants pulled alongside his vehicle and opened fire. No further suspect or vehicle descriptions were provided.

Detectives from the Major Crimes Division have taken over the investigation. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
