Bristol Count District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III announced that Christopher Heron was convicted of Second-Degree Murder after a jury trial in the Fall River Superior Court on Wednesday afternoon.

Heron and co-defendant, Joseph Housely, Jr were charged with the July 6, 2021, murder of 66-year-old Joseph Housely, Sr at 101 Forsythe Circle in Seekonk.

An extensive investigation into the previously unsolved July 6, 2021, homicide of 66-year-old Joseph Housley in Seekonk resulted in the indictment of the victim’s son and Heron for murder.

A Bristol County Grand Jury in September of 2022, handed down indictments charging Joseph “JD” Housley II and Heron, both of Rehoboth.

At approximately 9:53 p.m. on July 6, 2021, Seekonk Police responded to 911 calls regarding possible gun shots in the area of 101 Forsyth Circle. When first responders arrived on scene, they located Housley suffering from an apparent gunshot wound in an apartment at 101 Forsyth Circle. He was later pronounced deceased.

Housley II’s trial is currently scheduled for September.

Sentencing for Christopher Heron had been scheduled for Friday, June 27th, but has been changed to September 8th.
