Massachusetts woman is on the move after hitting $1 million State Lottery prize on instant game

A Massachusetts woman has her plans set after hitting a big State Lottery prize on a scratch ticket recently.

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Julia Da Rosa of New Bedford is the winner of a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$1,000,000 Ultimate 7” $5 instant ticket game.

She chose the cash option on her prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). Da Rosa said she plans on buying a house with her winnings. 

She purchased her winning ticket at Petro Mart 2, 258 Orchard St. in New Bedford and asked the clerk to pick the ticket. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
