Man accused of larceny of Athletic Association, Granite Telecommunications, pleads not guilty, released on personal recognizance in Fall River court
The Berkley Police Department, in collaboration with the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, has successfully concluded a months-long investigation into missing funds from the Berkley Athletic Association.
After convening a Grand Jury this fall, Joseph Phillips has been indicted on three counts of Larceny over $1200.
According to BPD, the Berkley Athletic Association and Granite Telecommunications were identified as victims in the indictment.
On Tuesday, Phillips was arraigned at Fall River Superior Court in connection with the charges brought against him. He pled not guilty and was released on personal recognizance.
Chief of Police Christopher Baker and District Attorney Tom Quinn emphasized, “Our commitment to upholding justice and ensuring the safety of our community remains unwavering. We encourage anyone with information on this case or any other criminal activity to come forward and assist in maintaining the integrity of Berkley.”
Phillips next scheduled court appearance is a pre-trial conference on March 7th.
