Plymouth County woman pleads not guilty after allegedly driving on lawn of police station

A Plymouth County woman was arrested over the weekend after an incident at a Massachusetts police station.

According to Chief Michael Carbone, on Saturday, Officer McElroy, while inside the police station, observed a vehicle driving across the front lawn of the station. Officer McElroy and Officer Kent immediately responded to investigate. Officer McElroy, operating his police cruiser, was able to stop the vehicle on the lawn. 

Upon approaching the vehicle, officers identified the operator as 57-year-old Karen Birolini of Pembroke. Birolini was unaware she had driven across the police station lawn and did not know what town she was in. 

Following officers’ observations and the administration of several Field Sobriety Tests, Birolini was placed under arrest. 

Birolini was charged with OUI Liquor, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle, and Marked Lanes Violation.

On Monday, Birolini pled not guilty at her arraignment and was released on personal recognizance.

Her next court appearance is a pre-trial hearing scheduled for February 21st.
