A Bristol County teen who was, and still is, an inspiration to many has passed away.

Leo Larocque of North Attleboro died Friday morning, a day short of his 16th birthday.

Larocque courageously battled a rare and aggressive former of cancer, Ewing’s Sarcoma.

After being diagnosed at the age of 9, Leo did not let cancer or a leg amputation stop him of playing the sport he loved, football. An example of his spirit and determination.

His courage and toughness were matched by his kindness which led to support across the community.

He even touched the hearts of the New England Patriots who gave Larocque a pair of tickets to Super Bowl LIII in 2019.

Leo’s obituary stated that his memory will live “on forever, and serve as a source of comfort and peace to those who mourn his passing and as a reminder of the profound impact he had during his short time with us on earth. Leo taught all around him to never give up, to never let anything get in their way, and to always fight. His only wish was to leave a positive and memorable mark on the world, and to change it for the better. Leo certainly did just that, as his life was a testament to his incredible wisdom, unwavering optimism, unmatched resilience, and his innate ability to always remain #LeoStrong.”

Services will be private, but family members plan on holding a celebration of life at a later date.

Your wish was certainly accomplished Leo. Rest in peace.
