Suspect injured after shooting himself while fleeing from Fall River Police
A man was injured during a pursuit with Fall River Police late Saturday night.
According to Lieutenant Matthew Mendes, a short time ago, officers from the Patrol Bureau responded to reports of gunshots in the area of the Sunset Hill Housing Development.
Upon their arrival, a suspect fled on foot. During the ensuing pursuit, the suspect inadvertently shot himself in the leg. As a result, the suspect was transported to an area trauma center with reported non-life-threatening injuries.
Mendes confirmed that no members of the department discharged their firearms during the incident.
