Man suffering from serious injuries, transported by MedFlight, after Taunton pedestrian crash
TAUNTON — Chief Edward Walsh reports that the Taunton Police Department responded to a serious motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian earlier this evening.
At approximately 5:45 p.m., the Taunton Police Department responded to the area of 11 Court St. after receiving reports of a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.
Upon arrival, officers located a man suffering from serious injuries after being struck by a 2012 Nissan Altima. The pedestrian was transported by MedFlight to a local hospital.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators.
The unidentified white male pedestrian is believed to be approximately 60-70 years old and may be a member of the homeless population.
The Taunton Police Patrol Division is investigating the crash with the assistance of the Taunton Police Crash Reconstruction Unit and the Taunton Police Detective Division.
