Events coming to Fall River Heritage State Park in September

Several events are scheduled to take place at the Fall River Heritage State Park this month. These are all free of charge.

Southeast Asian Culture Festival
Saturday September 8th
10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. throughout the park
Celebrate Southeast Asia customs, heritage, arts, cultures, and cuisines at this year’s Southeast Asian Cultural Festival, featuring fun and educational programs, cultural performances/stage shows, craft fair/exhibition, fashion shows, children’s activities, and delicious food! Presented by CARO. Open to all ages.

Leather Craft Demonstration
Thursday September 13th
12-12:45 p.m. in the Visitor Center
Learn about crafts with leather and Native American leather traditions demonstrated by two talented local artisans Roger Gray Fox and Donna Desrosiers. Open to all ages.

Lunch Meets Lecture Series “The Rivers and the Rail”
Wednesday September 26th
12:00-12:45 p.m. in the Visitor Center Theater
Local historian Taylor Silva, Head of Reference Services, Fall River Public Library, will explore “The Rivers and the Rail” and how nature and the railroad provided a transportation network that spurred the development of Fall River industry and commerce. Best for ages 16 and up. Bring a picnic to enjoy in the park!

New Exhibit & Exploration Stations: Make It Here
Ongoing Daily during normal hours in the Visitor Center Gallery
Explore Fall River’s industrial economy in this summer exhibit. This month’s “Make It Here” theme is leather. Crafts and hands-on activities for the whole family.
