After their home bar closed, Fall River pool team finds new home, wins trip to Hawaii
Possible despair turned into a big victory for a Fall River pool team after a recent tournament.
According to Joey Arruda from Straight Shooters, after their home bar, Mickey Doyles, closed, the team led by Captain Brian Texeira along with Kden Furtado, Bruce Camara, Ken Nickerson, Calysta Cleveland, Brad Nickerson and Gary Drolet, found a new home at Straight Shooters.
The group entered a big tournament hosted by Baystate APA that was held over two weekends this month at Straight Shooters.
With over 100 teams participating, the team made it to the final 6, undefeated, through a field of 51 teams last Sunday, November 3rd, winning 5 matches to reach the final 6. The 7 members came back Saturday, November 9th, to continue their march to the title finishing at 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning with the win.
The team won a fantastic trip to Hawaii for their efforts.
The APA Tournament was the first hosted by Straight Shooters in 5+ years and Arruda stated that they look forward to hosting more of them.
