Massachusetts DOT work on I-195 in Fall River and Westport to result in exit and lane closures
FALL RIVER – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has announced that it will be performing maintenance on I-195 eastbound exit 11 (Route 79/138) ramp. I-195 eastbound exit 11 will be closed to facilitate this work. The work is scheduled for Tuesday, October 29, from the hours of 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following morning. The following detour will be in place.

- I-195 eastbound Traffic will be detoured to exit 13
- Take a left onto Plymouth Avenue towards I-195 westbound.
- Take exit 11 to Route 79/138.
MassDOT will also be performing repairs to I-195 eastbound, just east of the Davis Road overpass in Westport. The work is scheduled for Thursday, October 24, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following morning.
Lane closures will be in place on I-195 eastbound. Temporary traffic alterations may be in place as needed, such as lane and shoulder closures.
Drivers traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
Appropriate signage, law enforcement details, and advanced message boards will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.
All scheduled work is weather dependent and/or may be impacted due to an emergency.
