Community, Fall River Police Department mourn loss of Brian Cordeiro
The Fall River Police Department is mourning the loss of a member of their family. The local community is mourning the loss of a friend who gave of himself.
On Friday, retired Detective Brian Cordeiro, passed away unexpectedly at Rhode Island Hospital.
Det. Cordeiro retired on April 30, 2023, after serving the Fall River Police Department for 25 years. Since that time, he had served as a Special Police Officer.
Social media was flooded Friday once word spread of Cordeiro’s passing remembering his infectious personality, enthusiasm, selflessness, and caring nature. Those who were mentored by him and the lives that he changed expressed their shock and sadness over the loss.
According to a social media post, Cordeiro was even a giver in death as his organs were donated to save lives.
Services for Cordeiro have yet to be announced.
