Police arrest man who allegedly traveled from Fall River to have sex with juvenile
Portsmouth, RI -A local man is facing some disturbing charges.
According to police, on Monday, the Portsmouth Police Detective Division arrested a man following an investigation into the solicitation of a minor for sexual activity.
The investigation revealed that 32-year-old Jacob Garzarelli had traveled from Fall River to the Portsmouth area to engage in sexual activity with a fourteen-year-old juvenile female.
Detectives located Garzarelli inside of a business on East Main Road in Portsmouth, subsequently taking him into custody.
Inside Garzarelli’s vehicle, detectives located a USB drive, a tablet, and numerous other items of evidentiary value. A search of the tablet resulted in the location of a pornographic minor image.
Garzarelli was arraigned on the charges of Indecent Solicitation of a Minor, Electronically Disseminating Indecent Material to Minors, and Possession of Child Pornography.
Garzarelli was released on five thousand surety bail which included a special condition of no unsupervised contact with persons under the age of sixteen as well as limited internet access.
