Fall River Police investigating after suspect accused of stealing expensive items, throwing devices into city business
Fall River Police are looking for a suspect believed to be involved in stealing thousands in merchandise and causing a small fire.
According to Det. Sergeant Moses Pereira, at approximately 6:30 a.m., Officers responded to Auto Gals located at 353 Mariano Bishop Boulevard in response to a smoke alarm activation.
Upon arrival, a small fire was discovered inside the building. Fire department personnel also indicated that when they arrived, the front window had been smashed. Upon further inspection, investigators determined that an unknown individual had made unauthorized entry to the business, vandalized multiple display areas, and stole several items from the business.
The same male returned several hours later and appeared to throw two devices into the business causing the smoke alarm activation.
According to a man who works at the dealership, various jewelry, watches, Versace, and a bunch of Daniella Ortiz handbags and clutches were stolen.
The case is being investigated by Detective Richard Aguiar Jr. of the Major Crimes Division. Anyone with information is asked to contact him at 508-676-8511 ext. 4106.
