Massachusetts man wins $1 million scratch ticket prize, and it couldn’t have happened at a better time
A big lottery scratch ticket win happened just in time for a Massachusetts man.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Michael Pereira of Salem is the winner of a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s $10 “$4,000,000 Mayhem” instant ticket game.
He opted to receive his prize in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000 (before
taxes). Pereira said he plans on purchasing a new car with his winnings to replace his
current one that recently stopped working.
He purchased his winning ticket at Salem 7 Food Store, 126 North St. in Salem. The
store receives a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
